Today's gospel, John 15:9-17, reflects the motherly love of God. The Lord teaches us how to be the best parents - or siblings, or spouses, or friends - we can be. Christ commands us:
"This is my commandment: love one another as I have loved you." - John 15:12
Jesus goes on to say:
"No one has greater love than this; to lay down one's life for one's friends." - John 15:13
I came across Ezekiel 16:44 while perusing Pinterest the other day, and thought it was perfectly fitting for the day. My mother is the most gracious, most forgiving, most faith-filled woman I know. She inspires me to "let go and let God" by submitting to God's Will. I have learned so much from her and continue to do so every day. If I were to became even half of the woman my mother is, I'll be set. I love you, Mommy!
I also want to thank my mother-in-law for raising my best friend and husband. You shaped him into the person I love the most. Without your parenting, my life would be so different.
I am #eternallygrateful to my Heavenly Father who blessed me with all of the wonderful mothers in my life!
