Psalm 118:24 proclaims, "This is the day that the Lord has made! Let us rejoice and be glad in it!"
I must confess, I always associated "this day" with Sunday. I, along with many people, saw Sunday as the ordained day of worship and rejoicing. Sunday is the day the Lord made, so let's rejoice and be glad on Sunday.
But, King David didn't write this verse to only describe Sundays, or even only the best days. When he says "This is the day", he means this day. Today. And everyday, actually.
Even when it's raining.
Even when you have run out of coffee.
Even when it's a Monday.
God made this day for us. That's enough to make you glad, don't you think?
Rejoice!
