I know it's been quite awhile since my last post. We've had a crazy busy couple of weeks around here! A friend and I threw a baby shower for my bestest bud last weekend, so the week before was filled with food prep, favors, and insanity. And I'll be honest, I *kinda sorta* avoided the blog this week.
Wednesday was a milestone birthday for me. The big 3-0. Dirty thirty. As from one of favorite movies, "13 Going On 30", #thirtyflirtyandthriving.
No matter what you call it, I turned it. And, let me tell you, I experienced somewhat of a crisis beforehand.
I had every minute of my life planned out from the age of 7. I was going to go to college at 18, get married and become a teacher at 22, have my first of three children at 25, my second at 27, and my third at 29. Fortunately, seven-year-old Amy grew up and learned what happens when we trust our own plans ahead of God's.
While my complete plan did not come to fruition, I have enjoyed every minute of my life. It is an ongoing struggle of mine to let go of my idea of a perfect life and give in to His, but I have recently felt that it's starting to sink in. I have felt more at peace, knowing that He is preparing us for something so much more amazing than my meager thoughts could ever imagine.
However, a couple weeks ago, my birthday drew nearer and nearer. I recalled my perfect plan that I had devised as a girl. I was so off course! Here I was, about to turn 30, and I'm so behind schedule!
I had what I can only assume was a midlife crisis. Or quarter life? Something.
But then I came across Esther 4:14:

"Perhaps this is the moment for which you have been created."
I pondered this verse for quite awhile, and it hit me. I felt a nudge in my heart, a voice saying, "I created you for a moment, and it hasn't happened yet!" What an amazing birthday gift, to hear from my Lord that His plan for me isn't finished!
I am #evergrateful for God's wisdom in the scriptures!
Happy birthday to me!
